“I had been suffering for many years with urine leakage to the point where I had to wear diapers and couldn’t wear white pants. Through a friend, I heard about a study for women with leakage when they cough sneeze or laugh. That described my struggles. I went thru the program, and while I don’t know if I got the real or the fake pills, I was treated respectfully and was reimbursed for my time and travel to and from the office. I don’t have a car. So, I was picked up with Lyft or Uber every time. The doctors were available to answer all my questions, and Stainley helped train me on the diaries. He was such a pleasure to work with and made me feel like a valued person. Many times I was taken right away without a wait time. It’s worth a try, because you never know what will work and bring you relief.”

I constantly felt a burning sensation during urination and tried many over-the-counter and prescription medications. Sometimes cranberry juice helped but the urinary infections always came back. I saw an ad near the bus stop about a study for women like me that get these infections all the time. I thought to myself: I have nothing to lose! I called the office, and right away, Kat answered the phone and quickly got me in for a consultation the same day! Kat understood what it feels like as a woman to constantly get these infections. She was able to arrange and coordinate my transportation and fitted me in for an appointment. I was told the treatment had a placebo group, but both me and the doctor didn’t know which one I had. I asked all my questions, like “Can I stop at any time?” They said every visit is voluntary, and I felt I was empowered and entitled to good care. What a pleasure to go to their office, be explained the study process, and have Uber or Lyft transportation instead of having to take the public bus.
