TYPE 2 DIABETES

What is Type 2 diabetes?

Type 2 diabetes is a long-term condition that affects how the body uses sugar (glucose) for energy. When blood sugar levels stay high over time, it can increase the risk of serious health problems such as heart disease, kidney disease, nerve damage, and vision issues.

Many people with type 2 diabetes work hard to manage their condition through diet, exercise, and medications. However, even with treatment, some individuals continue to struggle with high blood sugar levels and weight management..

Current Clinical Trial

These clinical research studies focus on adults with type 2 diabetes who have not reached their blood sugar goals despite ongoing treatment.

Participants are closely monitored throughout the study. Researchers track blood sugar levels, weight changes, and overall health while ensuring safety at every stage. Some studies compare an investigational treatment to a control group while continuing standard diabetes care and lifestyle guidance.

The goal is to better understand how new treatment options may help improve diabetes control over time.

Who Can Take Part?

To possibly be able to take part, a person must:

  • Are 22 to 70 years old
  • Have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes
  • Have higher-than-goal blood sugar levels
  • Have a BMI in the overweight or obesity range
  • Are currently using two or more diabetes medications

The study team will explain the possible benefits and risks of taking part.

What Will the Study Involve?

Screening: Study health checks to find out if you qualify

  • Study visits to record your current health.
  • Education related to your condition.
  • Instructions on any monitoring you may need to do at home.

Study Procedure:

  • A scheduled study treatment or procedure.
  • Most participants return to normal activities shortly after.
